Who We Are
Homestead Barndominiums LLC is a residential construction company based in Northport, Alabama. Since 2018, we’ve helped homeowners across the state turn ideas into well-built, lasting homes — earning our reputation as Alabama’s oldest barndominium builder along the way.
Our work is rooted in craftsmanship, transparency, and clear communication. Some of our clients come to us with detailed plans in hand. Others arrive with little more than a rough sketch or an idea they’ve been thinking about for years. Both are welcome here.
Our role is simple: help you shape that idea into a buildable plan that makes sense for your property, your lifestyle, and your budget — and then build it the right way.
Homestead Barndominiums proudly serves clients throughout Alabama, excluding Jefferson and Shelby Counties.
Construction Services
What We Build
Our focus is residential construction, with an emphasis on homes designed to last. Most of our work falls into two primary categories.

Barndominiums
Custom barndominium homes designed for full-time residential living. These structures combine engineered strength with flexible layouts and personalized finishes.

Traditional Homes & Custom Projects
In addition to barndominiums, we build traditional stick-built homes and select custom projects based on client needs, property conditions, and intended use.
Every project is approached with the same care, whether it follows a familiar floor plan or starts from scratch.
Service Area
Where We Build
Homestead Barndominiums is headquartered in Northport, Alabama, and builds projects throughout the state. Most of our work is concentrated in West and Central Alabama, including the Northport and Tuscaloosa areas. Projects outside this region may be considered depending on site access, location, and permitting requirements.
We do not build in Jefferson County or Shelby County. Service availability can always be confirmed during your consultation.
Starting with Clear Expectations
How We Work
Every project begins with a consultation designed to walk through your ideas, answer questions, and determine next steps before construction begins.
We offer two levels of estimates:
- Simple estimates (Free) — A general cost range based on size, layout, and finish level.
- Detailed “money line” quotes ($250.00) — A more in-depth review that includes plan evaluation, options, and a clearer picture of total cost.
The consultation fee covers the time and expertise required to prepare an accurate estimate. If you choose to build with Homestead, the $250 is applied toward your project. If you don’t move forward, you still leave with valuable information to use as you continue planning.
Homestead Barndominiums does not offer in-house financing. Many of our clients work with lenders for their construction loans.

What Sets Us Apart
Why Clients Choose Homestead
Clients work with Homestead because we prioritize planning before building. Our goal is not to push clients into a build — it’s to make sure they understand the process before committing. That approach saves time, reduces surprises, and leads to better outcomes for everyone involved.
The process is explained before construction starts.
Costs and variables are discussed early.
Design and pricing decisions are guided, not rushed.
Timelines are not promised when they can’t be controlled.
Clear communication is maintained throughout the project.
00
Do you take on smaller projects?
Project size varies, but every build requires planning, permits, and coordination. Projects are a good fit when clients understand the scope of construction and are prepared for the planning process.
00
How involved do I need to be during the build?
Client involvement is highest during planning and decision-making. Once construction begins, Homestead manages the build, with ongoing communication as needed.
00
Can you tell me if my land is buildable?
Basic property details can be reviewed during a consultation. Factors like access, utilities, site work, and permitting are discussed. Final determinations depend on local requirements.
00
What happens if I decide not to move forward after the consultation?
There is no obligation to build. Clients who do not move forward still leave with a clearer understanding of costs, scope, and next steps.
